The slideshow below proposes an AI-powered solution to a common problem in genealogy: ambiguously named locations. Genealogy software often struggles to pinpoint places with historical or multiple names, causing time-consuming manual work and potential errors. The presented AI system resolves this by automatically identifying the correct latitude and longitude for locations like the historical city of Adrianapolis, even with its multiple names and current identity as Edirne. The ultimate aim is to integrate this AI functionality directly into genealogy software, streamlining the research process and enhancing accuracy, with future plans involving affordable access for hobbyists and collaboration with developers.
